Journey was disrupted this morning - and it's not even snowing yet!!

I arrived at Barming at 06.55 and immediately knew there was a problem owning to the number of people on the platform.

Whilst I understand there are problems with the infrastructure in the South East, Southestern make things worse by not communication to their passengers or their staff.

We were initially told it was a lineside fire which should be dealt with fairly quickly. 45 minutes later we were told it was due to a power supply problem.

I eventually got the 09:04 from Maidstone Barracks and changed at Strood where I got the fast service.

The ticket collector didn't seem to know what the situation was with tickets and suggested we explain the situation at the gate st Kings Cross. There was actually no need to do this as we were let through en-masse.

Southeastern should as a matter of course allow ticket holders who have been delayed the ability to use the fast service at no extra cost.

Even if I'd got straight on the train from Barming at 08.35 - I still wasn't into London Victoria until 10.16 - not exactly a fast journey!

Hi All

We are all so frustrated with the incompetent Southeastern. I have to travel to London and have no choice but to use their service. I do not want to pay them any more than I have to.

Upon advice from a friend I now PARK and travel from West Malling. There is a fantastic new, safe and well lit car park which saves me £100's in parking charges and train fares ( as it is closer to London ). The best thing is that travelling to the new car park is so easy and no stress...... try it and save a lot of money. It is run by 2 really nice chaps who sold me a 6 monthly ticket.
